During my walk this morning I took this photo of the power station towers.  As you can see Lamma is like a tropical paradise.  The vegetation and life that thrives here is unlike anything Ive ever seen.  You can see Lamma's power station in the background.  (shot with DSLR)

Getting off the ferry you imediatly see this graffiti sign, "Welcome to Lamma" on the wall.  This picture also shows some of the apartments and other buildings on Lamma.  (shot with DSLR)

This is the first image I took with my DSLR.  I woke up early this morning and went for a walk.  I saw this cat sleeping and snapped a quick photo of him.

At 6:30am the ferry arrived to take us to Lamma Island.  The ferry ride wasn't more than 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes I think I saw more buildings than Ive ever seen in my entire life.

It really started to remind me of the film 'Inception' were they create a city in their dreams.  The buildings were just never ending.  These pictures only show a very small percent of the city.  It was truly breath taking.  Ive never seen anything like it!  I will be taking photos and videos with my DSLR soon so I will try and post a video when we take a ferry into the city to show the immense number of buildings.

When we got onto Lamma Island one of the first things I saw was a bunch of stray cats hanging out.  The one in the middle really looks resembles my cat.  There are tons of stray cats and dogs on Lamma.

One of the main reasons we are staying on Lamma Island is because Casey has a good friend, also named Ryan,  living here and teaching English on the main land.  When we met up with Ryan he took us to his apartment.  As soon as we walked into the apartment I noticed an old camera on a shelf.  It is an old Yashica Mat camera that shoots 120mm film.  Casey and I quickly grabbed it and started checking it out.  It is in amazing condition.

Ryan informed us that there are a lot of spiders on Lamma island.  I snapped this photo with my phone when I saw the first spider.  It was big to me but Ryan said that there are ones 2 to 3 times larger.

After the longest flight I have ever been on I stepped outside the airport in Shanghai China to get on the plane to Hong Kong.  The first time I have ever stepped foot outside the United States (excluding Mexico).  The flight from LA to Hong Kong was over 14 hours!  Then a three hour layover in Shanghai followed by the final 2 hour flight to Hong Kong.

After making our way from the airport to Hong Kong Central Station we stopped to rest at about 5am.  There was a really cool looking hall were I snapped a quick photo with my phone.

As we trekked to were the ferries were I stopped to snap a photo of people getting papers ready for the day.

Taking off from Phoenix.  We had a nice, short flight to Los Angeles.

At the end of May my friend Casey Schiller and I headed off to Hong Kong to spend some time on Lamma Island.  Our plan is to stay in Hong Kong for a month or so and then head off and travel through the Mekong Region.  From the main land we took a ferry to Lamma Island were we will be staying.  This blog is meant to detail our trip and show people our experience.
