Casey picked the best hotel in Hue.  The receptionist was a 24 year old beauty!   Her name is Uyen Pham and she is extremely nice and a joy to talk to.

I would have stayed in Hue for a few more days just to get to know this girl more.  She is so beautiful and super nice!!  I love Vietnam!!!!!

Casey and I went to a restaurant in Hue called Mandarin Cafe which was recommended in the lonely planet book.  We met a super nice girl there named Trinh.  We went there everyday when we were in Hue.  Trinh was so nice and funny.  I really enjoyed meeting her, and now we are friends on Facebook.

When we first arrived in Hue we went into a local cafe and got some coffee.  The waitress was so nice and the coffee was so good we went back the next day and I asked to get a picture with our waitress.  I love Vietnamese people!!!!

Casey and I rode motorbikes in Hue and found a memorial that we stopped at and took some photos.

When we were riding back to our hotel we pulled over to watch the sunset.  Vietnam is such an amazing place.  I can't say enough about it.

I got this shot of a guy named Marc who we met on our tour.  We had a pretty cool group of people on this trip.  This shot was taken on our way back to the pier to head back to Hanoi.

At night Casey and I went out on the beach for a while and looked at the stars.  It is nothing like Phoenix AZ, as you can see.

This is a shot from the beach were we stayed the second night at Halong Bay.  Casey and I shared a bungalow that was maybe 100 feet from the beach.

These photos were taken at Monkey Island.  We went through some caves which were extremely crowded with local tourists.  But it was still very cool to see.

This was a long exposure shot in the caves to get a lot of light.  Turned out pretty well.

This is a photo of our Halong Bay group and tour guide.  Our guide went by the name David.  He was extremely nice just like all Vietnamese people!

I got this shot of a monkey taking a break from eating.

This is a photo taken from our boat deck as the sun was setting.

When we went to Monkey Island we hiked for a while and had some amazing views of the Bay.  I got this shot of Casey when we stopped to take a break.

On our way to the bungalow were we stayed the second night.  There were so many little islands in Halong Bay.

Here are some more photos from the boat on our way to the bungalow for the night!

Casey and I left Hanoi on Friday the 13th for Halong Bay.  Here are some photos I took.

This was on the boat headed out to one of the many Islands that make up Halong Bay

This photo was taken on on Top of a tower on an large island in Halong.

Our first night we stayed on a boat.  These photos were taken from the boat deck.

Our guide Anh Dung was great!!  We stayed up late drinking rice wine and smoking tobacco out of a water pipe.  Every part of this Sapa trip was amazing.

Casey got this photo of me in the fields.  It is so peaceful out there.  I could stand there for hours!!

Casey and I left for Sapa on Wednesday night by train and arrived at 5am.  We took a bus up to the hotel were we would shower and have breakfast and store bags if need be.  Then we started to trek through the mountains of Sapa.  I took a lot of photos so here are a bunch in no particular order.

Here are a few photos of buffalo that roam the rice fields of Sapa.

They are all very nice and let you get right up and pet them if you want.  I got real close as this one was sleeping to get this shot.

We trekked through a lot of rugged terrane but it was all worth it for views like this.

There were many animals wondering around all over Sapa.

Now I can't say enough about our guide, Anh Dung.  He was amazing!!!  One of the nicest people I have ever met.  I got this photo of him as we took a short break from our hike.

Sapa is unlike anything Ive ever seen.  It is by far one of the most beautiful places on Earth!  You can see Mountains and hills with rice fields for miles.

There is so much scenery in Sapa I was pretty overwhelmed.  It is a photographers paradise!

We stayed the night at a home in the middle of the fields and the stars were amazing.  I grabbed my camera and Casey and I went and set it up to take a long exposure of the Milky Way.  Turned out quite well.  This is one of my all time favorites photos that I have taken!!

As we trekked the first day we were accompanied by a group of local ladies.  Each lady followed one person in the group for the whole first day.  Of course they wanted us to buy things when we finished for the day.  Casey took this photo of me and my assistant, Nom.

The clouds were absolutely amazing!  They would cover the tops of the highest mountains.  This photo was taken at the top of one of the trails.

Again this photo was taken high up on a mountain over looking the fields and mountains.

This photo is looking down a hill towards a bunch of rice fields.  You can see our group at the bottom left.  Casey is in there somewhere.

These photos show different rice fields all throughout the valley.  Sapa has been by far one of the most epic places I have ever been!!!

On the 6th of July Casey and I went to the Perfume Pagoda.  It was a really hot day but saw some really amazing things.  This is photo of a bell inside a cave that we walked to.

The locals had an ostrich roaming the village.  I got a few close up photos of it.  It did not look well fed as you could see the bones of its feathers.  The locals slaughtered the ostrich later that night and ate it.

This is a shot of Casey and our group in the cave at the Perfume Pagoda.  You can see the steps we walked down to get to the cave.

I took this photo on our way to the Perfume Pogoda.  It was a very hot and humid day despite all the clouds.

We had to take Sampan boats for about an hour.

The first day in Ha Noi Casey and I walked around and got a few photos .  Here is a shot of Casey taken a rest at a memorial.

I got this shot in the middle of a busy street showing all the motorbikes.  It seems 95% of people here ride motorbikes and the traffic is unlike anything in America.
